Prior to her work with TWB, Kim was Chief Development Officer for Glenwood Academy, managing a team of eight to meet their fundraising goals through private and public initiatives. As CDO, Kim was also responsible for securing major gifts including those in the seven and eight-figures, building communications and government relations, managing an annual gala, and handling their capital campaign from feasibility to completion. Kim also served as Vice President for Development and Communications at Lawrence Hall Youth Services.
In addition to her nonprofit expertise, Kim has worked in various political and governmental positions at the local, state and federal level including operating her own fundraising firm. Kim also served as Policy Director to the Illinois Office of the Governor and has spent much time in Springfield.
Before moving to Illinois, Kim spend a decade in Washington, D.C. as an appropriation’s legislative advisor to a U.S. Senator. Additionally, she worked as a government affairs consultant securing millions of dollars for organizations, cities and universities.
