Who We Are
Aliya J. Pitts, Associate Vice President
Aliya Pitts joined Ter Molen Watkins & Brandt from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM), where she served as the institution’s Director of Regional Development. In this capacity, her primary role was to raise major and planned gifts from alumni and friends of the institution in Chicago and Northern Wisconsin, areas where UWM’s contact with its donor base previously had been limited.
Prior to her work at UWM, Aliya was the Major Gifts Associate at The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired. While managing the information systems and donor tracking for this venerable Chicago institution’s comprehensive $17,000,000 Bold Visions Campaign, she also cultivated and solicited both major gifts and annual fund support from individuals, corporations and foundations. In addition, she executed and oversaw the organization’s direct mail program.
Her prior experience in brand development and project management, first as an Account Coordinator and later as an Account Executive for Marketing Support, Inc., provided Aliya with valuable logistical skills early in her career. Past clients include The Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, The Great Indoors and Best Buy.
An alumna of Smith College, Aliya holds a bachelor’s degree in history. She is now Treasurer of the Smith College Alumnae Club of Milwaukee and is also a member of AFP. A 2007 alumna of the Development Leadership Consortium, Aliya is now member of the organization’s Board of Directors.
From 1984-1993, Aliya lived in Karachi, Pakistan. She and her husband, Nick, now live in Racine, Wisconsin.
