Ter Molen Watkins & Brandt

Who We Are

Adjunct Counsel Program

The Adjunct Counsel Program is a new initiative at Ter Molen Watkins & Brandt. We currently are adding several adjunct, or of counsel, members to the firm, with the aim of helping our clients with services that we do not make a point of incorporating in our normal ongoing client relationships, often because they may not be part of the expertise of our existing staff.

From the perspective of TW&B, the rationale for this program is:
* To add to the firm’s stable of trusted professionals with expertise in special areas of service on behalf of our clients
* To assure availability of trusted colleagues should the need arise for conventional assistance with the firm’s clients
* To help develop a more extensive and dependable network of client referrals for the firm
* To indicate to the public a larger, more diverse and more imposing scale of TW&B activity

Angela McCareins , Adjunct Counsel

Angela McCareins has almost 15 years experience working with non-profit and for-profit organizations in marketing, development, project management, and consulting capacities. She helps non-profits achieve funding goals through a collaborative approach to strategic marketing and grant-based development efforts.

Angela first entered the non-profit field by serving as the Director of Development for the Fairchester Region of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), an international non-profit organization that provides entrepreneurship education programs to youth from low-income communities. At NFTE, Angela was responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies, and as such, led the solicitation, relationship management, and grant proposal effort, which included partnering with corporate, individual, and other institutional donors, volunteers, and key stakeholders. Additionally, she played an integral role in business operations such as budget management and program event planning.

Most recently, Angela worked with the Robert Crown Center for Health Education, where she led and managed the corporate, foundation, and government grant fundraising effort through coordination and alignment of business strategy and funding needs, writing proposals, and cultivating donor relationships. Angela also served as a member of the senior management committee, contributing to program, operational, and development initiatives.

Angela’s for-profit career includes strategic marketing, relationship management, project management, and portfolio management with banks and investment firms. She also has additional marketing experience acquired through consulting and project work with advertising and consumer goods companies.

Angela earned an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics from Northwestern University.  She is co-chair of a task force focused on identifying and attracting qualified women of color for matriculation into the Tuck MBA program, co- president of the Chicago Chapter of the Tuck alumni club, and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
